Volunteers, staff and residents at Woodgate raised £300 at their annual summer fete for the older people in their care at the Tonbridge residential home.
The home’s annual summer fete was a roaring success as around 100 people from the local community joined residents, staff and volunteers for a day of fun in the sun. Thankfully the storm held off and there was plenty of traditional fun and games on offer to keep the little ones occupied, including a bouncy castle, hook a fish and beat the goalkeeper. A variety of plants, which the residents had potted themselves in a gardening activity earlier in the week, were also available to buy at the summer fete as well as delicious homemade cakes, handmade cards and stationary and more. There was also live musical entertainment in the home’s lounge for those residents that wanted to stay out of the sun, making sure there was plenty of fun on offer for everyone.
Home Manager at Woodgate, Mark Saddler said: “We had a great turnout for the fete, we’re really grateful for the support of the local community. Our residents told us they had a lovely day and thankfully the weather was great too!”
