International singer and guitarist Bob Drury is coming to the Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells on Thursday 10 October with his highly acclaimed one man show ‘The Neil Diamond Story’. Packed with hit songs from a remarkable 48 year career, the show tracks Neil Diamond’s progress from unknown New York singer song-writer to international superstar.
Bob Drury, known as the UK’s ‘voice of Neil’, will perform classics such as Sweet Caroline, Cracklin’ Rosie, Love On The Rocks, Beautiful Noise, Hello Again, America, You Don’t Bring Me Flowers and many more in a multi-media show that gets its first airing in Kent before going on to some 30 theatres up and down the country.
Bob also features hit songs written by Neil Diamond but recorded by other artists such as UB40 (Red Red Wine), The Monkees (I’m A Believer); and Girl You’ll Be A Woman Soon as featured in the cult classic film Pulp Fiction.
Bob has specialised in performing Neil Diamond’s music for the past 7 years and has taken his shows throughout the UK and overseas including trips to the Mediterranean for a Cruise Company and regular work as headline act with the prestigious ‘Warner Breaks’ hotel chain. His successful ‘one-man’ show is now in its third year and goes from strength to strength. Bob says “It’s been great fun putting this year’s show together, I’ve been able to add songs that were requested during last year’s tour and have developed the visual elements of the show with a brand new stage set and more video sequences to help plot Neil’s amazing singing career”
After The Horsebridge Centre Bob takes his show to Sevenoaks, Folkestone, Sandwich, Tunbridge Wells and Deal before heading off to some 18 other theatres throughout the UK that are virgin territory for the performance!
