Sissinghurst charity auction, 28 September

Sissinghurst charity auction, 28 September

As one of the events to raise funds for the development of the Sissinghurst village hall, there’s to be a 50/50 charity auction on the evening of Saturday 28th September. This simply means that 50% of the sale price goes to the donor and 50% to the development fund.

To make the auction a financial success, the village hall management committee are seeking pieces of furniture, pictures, decorative pieces, jewellery; in fact any item to sell at auction. If by chance it’s a large item, the committee can photograph it, and after the sale if sold, make the necessary plans to have it collected. Donors can provide a reserve price if necessary.

There is also going to be a silent auction – a list of opportunities, household services, sport activities etc to be bid for during the evening. Furnishing making, gardening… maybe someone might offer the use of their holiday home. Nothing will be too big or too small to help raise funds to improve the community centre.

Items for sale can be bought to the village hall in Sissinghurst from 9am on Friday 27th September; and auction viewing is from 4pm on Friday afternoon. The auctioneer on Saturday evening will be Raj Bisram from Channel 4TV programme ‘Four Rooms’ and Bentley’s Auctioneers in Cranbrook.
