Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery is offering the opportunity for people to come along to a free open air watercolour workshop on Sunday 21 October from 1pm-4pm.
Professional artist John Wiltshire, whose work is featured in the art gallery’s current exhibition will be leading the workshop. John describes himself as a realist painter, specialising in landscapes as well as still-life paintings in both oil and watercolour.
The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in art, and both beginners and experienced painters are welcome. It will focus on landscape painting, and the subject will be the sandstone rock outcrop on Tunbridge Wells Common known as ‘Wellington Rocks’.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the artist’s process and try out different watercolour techniques, before creating a masterpiece of their own.
Workshop places are limited and need to be booked in advance. Please contact the Museum on 01892 554171 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
This special one-off event is run in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Tunbridge Wells in Watercolour’, which runs until Saturday 3 November at Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery.
