The well established and well respected Local & Live festival is back and bigger than ever. Over 20,000 people are expected to visit The Pantiles over the bank holiday weekend (August 24-27) to see the fantastic line up pulled together by local organiser and musician Paul Dunton.
All acts will be performing their own music, with genres ranging from blues, jazz and pop to folk, alternative and funk. Headliners have recently been announced and on the bandstand stage you can expect Stray Dogs, The Standard Lamps, David Midgen and the Dirty Words plus country artists The Breretons, who will close the festival on Monday.
After its colossal success last year, there will also be an acoustic stage. This is set up adjacent to The Duke of York pub and will feature an exciting array of soloists, duos and trios on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The fresh and edgy Corey Fox-Fardell will be headlining this stage, along with talented songstress Kirsty Macleod and the popular local duo Ant & Fie.
It’s a great way to support local acts and an entertaining long weekend for everyone. See www.localandlive.org for more information.
