Teenage gourmets now have a chance to shine as the Kent Young Chef Award 2012 launched on Monday September 10.
Organised by Produced in Kent, the competition is open to all Kent secondary school students in Years 7 to 11 and there are some great prizes on offer, including a one-day cookery experience at lunch at one of head judge Richard Phillips’ restaurants. Entrants must devise and write a recipe for an original main course dish, featuring regional and seasonal ingredients from the Garden of England. Each dish must be for two people and must be cooked and served within two hours. Eight finalists will be chosen to go forward to a live final at K College in Tonbridge on Friday November 23.
