Having already booked a whole host of marching bands, magicians, martial artists and top class street artists Tunbridge Wells Festival entertainment organisers have now gone the whole hog by arranging for an inflatable, 30-foot pink pig to feature in the fundraising weekender.
Visitors to the inaugural arts and entertainment event, being held on Sunday, August 26, and Bank Holiday Monday, 27, will be able to spot the sleeping sow between more than 80 high-quality stalls in Mount Pleasant Road.
The inflatable PIG installation snuffles, opens and closes her eyes and snores. Throughout the weekend farm hands will give members of the public the opportunity to become suckling piglets, and to take a peek at a 10-minute long unexpected piece of theatre inside her belly.
Marching bands, magicians and martial artists are among the entertainers set to perform at the inaugural Tunbridge Wells festival.
Dozens of the area’s most talented crowd-pleasers have also been added to the festival line-up, including the Boco Flogo marching band, Cascade Dance troupe, street entertainers at the Millennium Clock, Heart FM with dancing girls and acoustic acts on the KMFM stage. There will also be Tai Chi and Zumba displays and an appearance by magician Robert Pound.
Proceeds of the festival will be split between five charities; The Hospice in the Weald, Headway, Pepenbury, Stars Foundation – Cerebral Palsy and Chyps.
