Moving musical works will be performed in Tonbridge Philharmonic Society’s Choral and Orchestral Concert on Saturday April 6.
The all-British concert features The Banks of Willow Green by George Butterworth – who was killed in action in the Battle of the Somme – followed by Sir Philip Ledger’s new work for Easter, The Risen Christ. Young tenor, Richard Edgar-Wilson, brings the show to a close with Benjamin Britten’s bright, youthful cantata, St Nicolas. The conductor will be Robin Morrish.
Held at Tonbridge School Chapel, the concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £15/£12/£7. You can buy your tickets on the door or in advance from Country Garden Florist or Wolfit Pet Shop, both in Tonbridge High Street, or Brittens Music in Grove Hill Road, Tunbridge Wells.
