ACT, Alchemy Charitable Trust, a charity established to helping those in exceptional need across Sussex and West Kent, proudly presents an intimate, fun and outstanding jazz concert with acclaimed multi award winning jazz singers Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll on Saturday 25 October at Salomons Estate, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
This fun and informal evening includes champagne on arrival, a three course meal and wine, and the opportunity to see the UK’s number 1 jazz singers in the elegant setting of the Victoria Theatre at Salomons Estate.
This is a unique performance collaboration with two of the most respected and acclaimed British jazz singers of the generation. Both singers regularly perform at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London to sell out audiences. Voted “Best Jazz Vocalist “at the BBC Jazz Awards in 2007 and 2004, Ian Shaw has already amassed a number of highly acclaimed albums and is a popular performer both in the UK and the US (“Our finest jazz singer. Marvellous” – Time Out).
Lane Carroll has also won numerous awards and accolades from critics. Liane won the BBC Jazz Awards in 2005 and is the only musician ever to have picked up two of these awards in the same year (“Utterly brilliant“ – Time Out).
Ian and Liane will be performing an eclectic mix of repertoire, including their own contemporary interpretations of the great timeless jazz standards. Their performance will also include songs from popular modern songwriters and a selection of their own material. Be prepared to be entertained!
