Big screen comes to The Forum with pop-up cinema

A season of art house, independent and world cinema can be seen at Tunbridge Wells’ award winning music venue, The Forum, now that it’s playing host to TWPOPUPCINEMA.

To celebrate the partnership, a launch event will be held at The Forum at 7.30pm on Thursday December 5, with a screening of this year’s unexpected Irish hit, Good Vibrations (cert 15). Directed by Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn, the film tells the story of a young man who opens a record store in Belfast at the height of the Troubles and how music brings the closed down city back to life.

Denis Hart, founder of TWPOPUPCINEMA, says: “This is really exciting news. The Forum is ideal for the kind of film programming being planned and we intend to play to the venue’s strengths by screening anything non-mainstream, quirky and thought-provoking. And as a music venue, we’ll be exploring how we can bring live music, performance and film together under the roof of the Forum.”

Tickets cost £6 and can be bought from The Pantiles Bookshop, the Duke of York pub on The Pantiles or on the door.

The full programme of upcoming films will be published soon. For more information email twpopupcinema@gmail.com
