A reminder that the Big Draw family fun day is coming to Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery on Saturday 6 October.
The museum is holding the special family fun day as part of the national Big Draw, the world’s biggest celebration of drawing. The drop-in event will take place between 11am – 4pm and will give visitors the opportunity to try out different materials and techniques.
Professional local artists including artist and designer Elizabeth Clayman, illustrator Carlos Garde-Martin and photographer and graphic artist Ellen Montelius will be there as special guests to tell people about their work and what inspires them. The artists will lead a range of activities including playing around with scale; combining forms to create imaginary scenes; making sketchbooks; using photography as an aid to drawing, and colouring in! The activities will encourage people to forget that the words ‘I can’t draw’ were ever part of their vocabulary.
Abbi Bradford audience development manager at Tunbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery says: ‘The event we’ve got planned is full of creative activities and we’ve a wealth of objects and displays in the museum to provide an infinite source of inspiration for people joining us on the day.’
The family fun day is a drop-in event suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied at all times.
