Aspiring writers in Kent are being offered the chance to learn tips of the trade from bestselling novelist Audrey Niffenegger, author of The Time Traveler’s Wife and Her Fearful Symmetry.
Organised by The Writers’ Academy from Random House publishers, the two-day creative writing workshop is being held at Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells on Friday April 12 and Saturday April 13. The course is aimed at budding authors who have already made a start on a novel, whatever the genre; before the workshop begins, participants will be asked to send in 5,000 words from the beginning of their project so Audrey can get to know their style in readiness for the class.
During the workshop she will focus on the two elements she considers to be the ‘nuts and bolts’ of novel writing: structure and character. Amateur writers should not miss this opportunity to pick up tips from a highly successful writer whose novel The Time Traveler’s Wife was adapted into a hit Hollywood film.
Places on the course are strictly limited to 14 and entry costs £375. Discounted accommodation will be on offer for participants wishing to stay at Hotel du Vin during the course. To book your place visit www.thewritersacademy.co.uk
