Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is today sending out a reminder to residents and groups across the borough not to miss the opportunity to nominate an individual or a group for one of this year’s Love Where We Live awards. Nominations should be made by 9 April.
The Love Where We Live Awards are an opportunity to recognise and celebrate those who make a difference to their community in the borough of Tunbridge Wells. There are six categories in the awards: Green; Innovation; Individual Hero; Best Group; Charity of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
Nominations are welcome from any member of the community. Full details about how to enter an individual or group for an award are available on the council’s website, www.tunbridgewells.gov.uk or contact 01892 554270. Leaflets are also available from the Gateway, Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Weald Information Centre, Cranbrook and other local community facilities.
Cllr John Cunningham, Portfolio Holder for Health, wellbeing and Rural Communities said: ‘please don’t let your ‘local hero’ miss out by not nominating them. Some fantastic nominations have already been made for each of the categories which confirm that in our community there are wonderful people doing wonderful things. I’m delighted that we are going to be able to recognise them publically and celebrate all that they do. It’s very easy to nominate someone – so do it now!’
Winners, chosen by an independent judging panel, will be invited to receive their award at a ceremony in May 2012.
