Tunbridge Wells Ice Rink

This year, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are delighted to announce that they will be live streaming the opening of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink so people who cannot get to the ice rink, can watch what’s happening on their computers live.

Building on the success of their time lapse film of the Tunbridge Wells ice rink build, Dark Horse Digital will be streaming the opening of the ice rink on Friday 20 November live from a production unit in one of the traditional wooden chalets.  Cameras, microphones and play-in studio graphics will be set up to record the ice rink opening.

The live stream will begin at 6pm from Calverley Grounds with the arrival of local percussion and drumming Samba band Bloco Fogo, and will continue with solo and group ice skating performances by Gillingham Silver Blades and the Mayor officially opening the ice rink.  For those who want up to the minute information about the ice rink opening, it can be accessed via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrbfFLaPfWc  or alternatively from the website http://www.tunbridgewellsatchristmas.com or the Ice Rink you tube channel  https://www.youtube.com/user/TunbridgeWellsXmas feed will go live to YouTube from 6pm for those who want up-to-the minute information about the ice rink opening.

Owners Sasha Fromeyer and Paul Daniels say: “Web video filming is what we do. We could just shoot the opening and throw it up online; however, adding a live element will build excitement and social media chatter.  The social media community can not only read all about it, they can click through and see what’s everyone talking about as it happens.”

The ice rink will be open seven days a week from Friday 20 Nov ’15 – Sunday 3 Jan ’16 (closed Christmas Day). The outdoor ice rink situated within the natural amphitheatre of Calverley Grounds offers spectacular views of the park and really is a unique and special festive experience. This year Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are delighted to announce that the rink is going to be even bigger – with capacity for 250 skaters, and due to popular demand have added an extra morning parent & toddler session.
