Love where you Live Tunbridge Wells

Where do you live?
In Hither Chantlers in beautiful Langton Green.

How long have you lived there and what made you decide to move there?
We moved here a year ago, because the house backs onto my parents’ house, plus we have an amazing large garden, which my three boys adore.

What’s your favourite shop locally?
If I’m clothes shopping, I always head to Tunbridge Wells High Street and go to Bod and Ted or Anna Poulson in Chapel Place. Both have reasonably priced cool, individual pieces that make you stand out in a crowd. Dassie Artisan in RVP have some beautiful, fairly traded signature pieces for the home, which I would complement with a beautiful bouquet from Darling and Wild… For food, you can’t beat Fullers in Eridge, a one-stop for all barbecue needs! All of these are small, independent Tunbridge Wells brands; it astounds me how much talent we have in our local area.

Where’s the best place to go for a Sunday stroll?
You can’t beat a walk through the Common, a clamber over the rocks and then finish with a roast dinner or hot chocolate at The Ragged Trousers on The Pantiles.

The best place to get a cup of coffee?
I love Chai Latte’s from Manna on the High Street, plus all of their profits go to charity. They also  employ a number of people with  learning difficulties, which is part  of their inclusive mantra, being  based out of my church, Christchurch.

Where do you take people when they come to visit?
Always Juliets on the High street…I love its ambience and food!

What’s the night life like where you live?
Great if you’re a fox in Langton! Heading into Tunbridge Wells I always have the best fun at the Forum. I grew up here, so to have it voted as best small venue by NME is amazing. I love how there is such a variety of ages accessing the fantastic music on offer. I always, always have the best fun there.

Where’s your favourite place to eat locally?
I have never been let down by The Kentish Hare in Bidborough – great service and the food is off the scale.

Are there any nice views nearby?
The view from The Beacon is beautiful. Plus they have a kitchen garden and great local menu, all sourced within ten miles. The food is simply incredible.

If you’re looking to relax and unwind, where’s your favourite place to go?
Coco Blush have a vast array of massages and facials on offer. I always leave feeling like I’m floating on air.

Where’s the best place to meet friends and socialise?
It has to be Mount Edgcumbe garden on a summer evening, or inside in the caves in winter. Good food, and interestingly designed interior too.

What do you do when you spend a weekend or day off in the local area?
Go slightly out of Tunbridge Wells and visit the beach. I love Dungeness for house inspiration, Camber for the dunes
and Rye for shopping.

Why do you love where you live?
We are an hour from London and the sea. Just driving around Tunbridge Wells it blows my mind how beautiful it is, lots of great architecture, a common in the middle of town and a thriving local economy, as a local business myself I am proud to be connected to so many wonderful businesses.
