Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in TW just 2 weeks away!

The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Royal Tunbridge Wells is just two weeks away and Sunday 25th March is set to be an unforgettable day. The event is already full but you can still come and show your support for the runners and make a donation! Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of something amazing, make a donation here: www.sportrelief.com.

Taking place at the Nevill Cricket Ground, the first ever Royal Tunbridge Wells Mile is set to be an incredible event. All the money raised by the public will help people living unimaginably tough lives right here on our doorstep, across the rest of the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Cllr Mrs Catherine Mayhew said: “The Tunbridge Wells Sainsbury’s Sports Relief Mile is set to be a spectacular event. It’s fantastic that so many people across the borough are gathering together to show their support for Sport Relief 2012. We want this to be the best Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile – so please come along and show your support for the runners of the Tunbridge Wells Sainsbury’s Sports Relief Mile today, see them lace up their running shoes and join the rest of the nation to raise plenty of cash for a great cause in our Olympic year!”

Fusion Lifestyle, who operate Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s sports centres, will be providing a warm up for runners and Willard’s American Food will be providing refreshments including tea, coffee and bacon rolls from 9am.

Participants have chosen their own distance, from 1, 3 or 6 miles, and can complete it in any way they fancy. From teeny tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day.

Sport Relief has a unique history of dedicated people doing extraordinary things to go the extra mile. Last September, David Walliams started Sport Relief off with an epic splash when he completed the BT Sport Relief Challenge: Walliams vs The Thames. Despite battling a nasty bacterial bug and

bitingly cold water, David swam a staggering 140 miles, and has so far raised over £1million for Sport Relief. And there’ll be even more amazing celebrity challenges to get the whole nation geared up for the Sport Relief Weekend on Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March 2012.
