Gymnastic badges take members to the Next Dimension

Just six months after its launch, some 250 members of the Next Dimension Gymnastic Academy in Tunbridge Wells have been presented with badges from the British Gymnastics’ Proficiency Awards scheme.
During the last week of March, members aged between 4 and 13 were put through their paces for the British Gymnastics’ Core programme. Children new to the awards started at level 8 and badges were given to those who successfully achieved eight out of the ten skills required involving balance, strength, flexibility and co-ordination.
Since first opening its doors on 13th October 2011, the £2m state of the art academy, catering for both children and adults, has attracted around 500 members. With eight gymnastic squads, competing in several regional competitions to date, they have already made their mark. At the recent Regional Club Grades in Guildford, one team member took home the silver medal, another was placed 5th overall and each girl passed, four with distinction.
The academy boasts a 1,104 sq ft gymnasium, two studios offering a full fitness timetable, changing rooms with showers, a physiotherapy room, and a first floor café with viewing gallery, in addition to a shop selling branded clothing and accessories.
