Water Main Replacement in Swattenden Lane, Cranbrook

As part of an ongoing programme to improve the water supply network, South East water is to undertake a £124,000 scheme to replace approximately 545m of old water main with a new, tougher water main.
Phase 1 – 26th November to 21st December 2012 temporary traffic lights
Phase 2 – 7th January to 25th January 2012 temporary road closure
Phase 3 – 25th January 2012 to 21st February 2013 temporary traffic lights
The temporary road closure is to prevent through traffic passing along Swattenden Lane. Pedestrian, residential and business access will be maintained and entry for residents and businesses will be from either end of Swattenden Lane depending on the location of the road closure.
During the Christmas period between 22nd December and 7th January the works will be suspended.
The diversion route for through traffic during the road closure has been drawn up in conjunction with Kent Highways and will be clearly signposted.
