The Pantiles jazz nights cancelled

Jazz nights on The Pantiles have been axed until further notice after fears about safety when there were just four security staff on duty to manage a crowd of 3,000.
Targetfollow, which owns the Upper Walk, said the decision had been taken after consultations with the police and licensing authority. Complaints about antisocial behaviour, including underage drinking and bag snatching, contributed to the decision.
When the Thursday night events started in 2009 they attracted 200 people.
