Singers and dancers from Mandy Ellen Performing Arts in Maidstone raised an amazing £2,100 for chYps at their Variety Show on Saturday 31March.
The troupe of talented performers put on a spectacular variety show at K College in Tonbridge, after principal Mandy Ellen pledged to raise £10,000 for chYps throughout 2012.
The local Children’s Hospices provides world-leading hospice care to around 120 children in their homes across West Kent, including Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, and surrounding villages.
The variety show, which featured songs from West End favourites Jersey Boys and Cabaret, is the first of several fundraising events planned by Mandy for 2012.
The night was a huge success, with more than 200 guests turning up to watch the show, and raising in excess of £2000.
Louise Wright, Senior Corporate Fundraiser for chYps, said: “I can’t thank Mandy Ellen Performing Arts and K College enough for all their support. The show was absolutely fantastic and the children and young people who took part were so talented. This money will go towards helping terminally ill children stay at home with their families, where they will receive world-leading hospice care.”
