Let’s get into the festive spirit!

The festive season is well and truly upon us, and amidst the Christmas nights out and long-awaited catch ups with friends and family, there is some serious fun to be had.

Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without shouts of “It’s behind you” and “oh no it isn’t”. A trip to the pantomime is a treat shared by many families, so it’s time to think about getting your pantomime tickets! Oh yes it is!
This December the Assembly Hall Theatre proudly presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from Friday December 9 2016 to Mon Jan 2 2017 – one of the best-loved fairytales of all time.

Hi-de-hi’s Su Pollard headlines the cast which also includes CITVand Nickelodeon’s Jamie Rickers. TV and Panto legend Su, who has appeared in 37 pantomimes, will star as the Wicked Queen. Su says:
“I just so enjoy the tradition of it. I love the corny jokes, the fabulous costumes, the way that the audience can join in and that there is always a happy ending with everybody going home having had a marvellous time. I can’t wait to get the audience going with the usual pantomime boos and hisses”.

Everyone loves Snow White and there couldn’t be a more beautiful Snow White than Millie Booth. Chris Warner Drake plays her Prince and then, there’s Jamie Steen as over-the-top nurse Dolly Cough-Drop. Completing the line-up will be the cheeky seven dwarfs creating more madness and mayhem.

If you love ice skating, there’s no better way to celebrate the winter weather than twirling around the ever popular Royal Tunbridge Wells ice rink. Get your skates on! A favourite festive destination, Royal Tunbridge Wells offers something for skaters, shoppers and spectators across the season. Calverley Grounds has been transformed into a beautiful winter ice rink. By day or night, visitors can skate  in the beautiful splendour of Calverley Grounds’ amphitheater, bathed in twinkling festive lights.
Open to people of all ages, there’s fun for the kids with skate aids in the shape of seals, as well as parent and toddler sessions and main skating sessions. There’s also live music nights in association with The Forum, warming refreshments – gourmet BBQ smoked pulled pork and steak burger brioches from Apple & Cor!, hot chocolate from Basil On Ice and craft beer from Fuggles Beer Cafe. You can also meet Father Christmas.

Opening times, until January 2 2017, are Monday to Sunday (excluding Christmas Day), first skating skate session at 9.45am and last skate session starts at 8pm. Tickets cost from £10.50 per adult, from £7 per child, including the cost of skate hire. Family tickets, concessions and Go! Card tickets are also available.
Tickets are on sale from 01892 554 645, in person at the Assembly Hall Theatre Box Office or the Ice Rink Box Office, Calverley Grounds.  Twitter @RTW_Xmas
