‘One of the finest gardens in England’ the award winning gardens at Pashley are open until the end of September from Tuesday to Saturday and Special Event Days. Whenever you visit there is something to delight the senses – the herbaceous borders are at their best in August and September with wonderful dahlias, lilies, asters and a second flowering of roses.
As well as coming to see the beautiful gardens you should ‘allow time to sample the fabulous homemade food and warm hospitality at arguably the best garden café in the county, much of which is sourced from the abundant kitchen garden’ (Leigh Clapp in ‘Sussex Life’).
August has been called ‘Lily Time’ because there are hundreds of lilies planted in the gardens and woodland, which come into flower this month. Then, at the end of August, over the bank holiday weekend, Pashley is host to the Sussex Guild Craft Show when there will be over 45 stalls showcasing work of the highest quality for sale from local designers/makers.
