It’s Shrove Tuesday on February 28th, so rather than battling the batter at home, head to one of these places and indulge in some delicious pancakes…
DAILY BREAD, RUSTHALL
Nestled on Rusthall’s High street, just a stone’s throw from Tunbridge Wells is this delightful eatery, serving up some delicious dishes – including some of the most amazing pancakes we’ve ever tried. Nuts, bananas, fruit…it doesn’t matter how you have your stack topped, you certainly won’t be disappointed.
BLUEBELL COFFEE HOUSE, TENTERDEN
If you like your pancakes with an extra sprinkling of magic, then make sure to visit the Bluebell Coffee House in Tenterden between Monday February 27 and Sunday March 5 where they have a whole week of pancake celebrations. And, for those looking for an upgrade from lemon and sugar or Nutella, try their new ‘unicorn pancakes’ which are topped with Lucky Charms, popping candy, marshmallows and other sweet treats.
JEAN’S BAR, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
This cool new restaurant on St John’s Road has been making waves in the burger department since opening recently, but on Tuesday 28th, head there in the morning for a delicious breakfast instead. Head to Jean’s from 9am to 1pm and let someone else do the flipping!
Can’t get to a cafe on Pancake Day? Don’t worry – Cocolicious in Cranbrook serve up fabulous brunches on Saturdays, with the option of pancakes served with bacon and maple syrup in the mix. Start the celebrations early and toast the weekend with a scrumptious stack…
LA CANTINA, TENTERDEN
To celebrate all things pancake, La Cantina in Tenterden is opening early on Tuesday 28th. From 9am you can enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast, and they’ll even throw in a complimentary Americano.
FRAMPTONS, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
We’re all for celebrating Pancake Day every day, and you can at Framptons. Served until 11.30am daily, their extensive breakfast menu boasts an array of delicious choices, but what we’re really interested in is the pancakes…which come served with seasonal berries and fruit, Greek yoghurt and maple syrup…and of course, the option to add bacon.
BILL’S, SEVENOAKS (or Tunbridge Wells)
Bill’s know how to do pancakes, so no matter which town you’re in, there’s no excuse not to indulge. As well as the usual (amazing) pancake breakfast options, this week they’ve also whipped up a few specials, including lemon cheesecake pancakes, banana split and salted caramel. We’ll take them all, thanks.
