It’s World Gin Day, which means spending the weekend drinking G&T’s in the sunshine is the law…probably. Here are five locally created gins for you to sip (yes, we said sip), to celebrate…
ABLEFORTH’S BATHTUB GIN
Hailing from Tunbridge Wells, this multi award-winning gin is made using a traditional method known as cold compounding, and is infused with botanicals such as juniper, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, orange peel and clove. Not only does it taste delicious, we also love the brown paper wrapping – which is all done by hand.

GREENSAND RIDGE LONDON DRY GIN
Located in an old Victorian coach house in Shipbourne, Greensand Ridge is an innovative micro-distillery, which creates the London Dry Gin – an aromatic, citrusy gin created with 15 botanicals. There are eight locally sourced botanicals too, including Kentish cobnut, gorse and rosehips. The company is striving to tackle sustainability too, by mitigating food waste and reducing emissions.

ANNO KENT DRY GIN
Made in Marden, the Anno Kent Dry Gin blends samphire from the Romney Marsh and Kent hops, with locally foraged elderflower. Having won multiple awards, including the prestigious Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2015, this is enjoyable on its own, in a G&T or even in a martini.

MAYFIELD SUSSEX HOP GIN
The new kid on the block, Mayfield Gin is created using Sussex hops, which give the drink a zesty, citrus flavour. With floral notes and an elegant finish, keep an eye out for this exciting new gin, and the eye-catching branding which relates to the old Sussex folklore tales of St.Dunstan.
1606 PREMIUM LONDON DRY GIN
Handcrafted in small batches of 100 bottles at a time and distilled using the natural spring water from Tunbridge Wells, this gin has an abundance of juniper and a selection of other traditional botanicals such as angelica, cardamom and liquorice, together with 1606’s own organic lemon and orange that they grow and pick in Spain.
