Here’s a selection of sparkling local activities to keep the family entertained this weekend
The adorable Santa Express land train begins its festive journeys this weekend, taking you around Tunbridge Wells from 10am to 4pm. Hop on outside The Assembly Hall Theatre and enjoy an exciting trip along the streets of the town. Journeys are free, but charitable donations are welcomed – the money goes to local charity the Pickering Cancer Drop-In Centre.
Please note – this weekend the train will be running a revised route and won’t be visiting The Pantiles, but normal service will be resumed from Saturday November 26.
It’s never too early to visit Father Christmas and put in your requests for the big day, so it’s handy that from this weekend, the man himself will be at Tenterden Garden Centre. Meet and feed the donkeys from the Retreat Animal Rescue Centre, receive a gift from Father Christmas and take part in the 12 Days of Christmas trail.

Whizz around a winter wonderland at Calverley Grounds in Tunbridge Wells, as the ice rink opens again this weekend. Wrap up warm and show off your skills on the ice, enjoy local warming food and drink as you watch others gliding by, and even pay a visit to Father Christmas.

Fun for all the family will be had on The Pantiles today (Saturday November 19) as they host ther Christmas Cracker event. With a kids’ disco from 5.30pm, the lights being switched on by Father Christmas himself at 6.30pm, and the Christmas Funk Band taking to the Pantiles Bandstand, there’s something to keep everyone entertained.
