REBECCA HIRST IS A NUTRITION EXPERT AND HEALTH COACH WHO RUNS GLORIOUS WELLNESS. HERE, SHE TELLS US WHY SHE LOVES WHERE SHE LIVES…
Where do you live?
Leigh, near Hildenborough.
How long have you lived there and what made you decide to move there?
We moved here 11 years ago. We’d lived in Sevenoaks for years and wanted somewhere with more space but still with good connections to London.
What’s your favourite shop locally?
Leigh has one shop/Post Office that covers most needs. Otherwise, when I head into Tunbridge Wells I always stop by Le Petit Jardin.
Where’s the best place to go for a Sunday stroll?
My favourite walk is from Leigh to Penshurst Place. I do that walk at least three times a week. It clears my head.
The best place to get a cup of coffee?
Malabar in Sevenoaks. A locally owned, independent café that does great coffee.
Where do you take people when they come to visit?
Penshurst, Hever, Knole or Ightham Mote.
What’s the night life like where you live?
Er, night life? We don’t have streetlights in Leigh! So the night life is a walk to the village pub, the Fleur de Lis with a torch.
Where’s your favourite place to eat locally?
The Cinnamon Square for a curry. Or, The Little Brown Jug for a roast.
Are there any nice views nearby?
The best are from the outdoor terrace at Kingdom in Penshurst. Epic views. Great coffee, cakes and yoga there too.
If you’re looking to relax and unwind, where’s your favourite place to go?
I love horse riding. A few hours in the saddle in the Kent countryside and I’m happy. There are so many beautiful toll rides around Tonbridge.
Where’s the best place to meet friends and socialise?
I love any excuse for a rendezvous at Juliet’s in Tunbridge Wells.
What do you do when you spend a weekend or day off in the local area?
I head to The Stag cinema in Sevenoaks. A brilliant, local treasure that I love to support.
Why do you love where you live?
I love Leigh because it’s surrounded by beautiful green fields and walks. I’m happiest in wellies out in the fresh air.
