Pupils spread Christmas cheer at local care home

Pupils at Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School in Mayfield spread Christmas cheer when they performed a repertoire of carols for residents at Rusthall Lodge Care Home in Tunbridge Wells.

The mixed-age group of young singers from the independent day school sang a medley of Christmas songs including some beautiful solos as well as traditional carols.

Heather Stewart, Year 5 Tutor and Community Engagement Lead at Skippers Hill, said: “It was wonderful for the children to visit Rusthall Lodge and they very much enjoyed chatting to the residents after their performance. One lady who lost her sight at the age of 80 said that she really looked forward to the children visiting and it was a highlight in the lead up to Christmas.”

Among those who performed were a number of children who enjoy singing lessons as an extra-curricular activity at Skippers Hill.
