New small business holds pop-up stand in Sevenoaks

“Where can I find the perfect ballerina flats that are stylish, comfortable and priced so that I won’t need to hide from the other half or bank manager?” It was this question that led to the creation of Emmy Twenty, because as it turns out, lots of women were asking the same thing.

Emmy Twenty set about creating shoes that met the needs of the busy, modern and yet on-trend woman; searching far and wide to source beautiful fine quality leather. Their fashionably flat shoes finally arrived on the scene in 2013 and director Sharon Sunners will be holding a pop-up stand in Sevenoaks this winter.

Barclays are currently running pop-up shops across their branch network as part of their small business initiative. As Emmy Twenty is a new online business, having a high street presence for a couple of days adds a new dimension as people can pop along to see the shoes, try them on, and also get to know Sharon and the brand she has created.

Emmy Twenty was born from Sharon’s own shopping dilemma, when she had worn her favourite ballerina pumps out and then on going back to the same shop discovering they had switched from leather to imitation leather (for the same price!). Speaking to her friends, colleagues and eventually surveying other shoppers, Sharon realised there seemed to be a gap in the market for stylish ballerina pumps that were made from leather but importantly were also affordable. The fact that flat shoes were clearly winning the fashion stakes and more and more celebrities were ditching their heels in favour of them, encouraged Sharon to start designing and eventually source a manufacturer to put them into production.

Emmy Twenty will have a pop up stand in the Barclays on Sevenoaks High Street on Saturday 14 December from 9.00am until 2.00pm, and on Thursday 19 December from 9.00am-5.00pm. There will be an exclusive 15% off discount for shoes purchased on these dates at the stand.
