The team at Discover the Garden of England have celebrated their first birthday with the launch of a new iPhone App. Discover is a marketing initiative which showcases the best that west and mid Kent and its borders with East Sussex have to offer as a visitor destination, including accommodation, places to visit, events, activities, shopping and places to eat.
The website www.discoverthegardenofengland.com features some of the latest tourism-specific technology and gives visitors up-to-date information about the area. It was nominated as one of the Top 10 Most Influential Websites in Sussex (by the Leaderboard Group), for providing visitors with unique and valuable information about the best ways to enjoy Sussex.
With 70 tourism businesses as members already and a growing demand, the initiative has helped to fill a gap in the market say the two entrepreneurs behind the initiative Juliet Steinmetz and Debi Rice who used to work for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Sevenoaks Council.
